Meet Our 2021 Free Year of Yoga Winners

Welcome to our winners of a free year of Yoga: Ashley Bryan and Stephanie Woodbury!

This year we decided to support two lucky winners because, with 2020 as hard as it was for most people, it was difficult to choose only one.

We look forward to following the journey of these two women as we grow together, support each other and become strengthened in our Yoga family.

Our first winner is Ashley Bryan, 33, a registered nurse in the Research Department at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Like many of us, Ashley admits that 2020 was a rough year for her and her family – her husband, Nick, and two-year-old daughter, Sawyer. “I’m looking forward to a much better mindset for 2020,” she says.

Ashley’s goals for her year of Yoga include improving flexibility, learning to listen to her body more (and know when it needs a break!) and improving her mental mindset by being at peace with what is going on in her life.

“I’m so thankful and grateful for this opportunity,” says Ashley. “I am looking forward to this journey with The Floating Lotus as a way to maintain a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. I can’t wait to get started.”

Our second winner is Stephanie Woodbury, 39, a nursing student. She has three children: Caleb, 14, Gracie, 6, and Jacob, 4. She and her husband, Chris, have been married for eight years.

Stephanie had just been accepted to UAMS’s Bachelor of Nursing program when COVID arrived in 2020. So, she decided to delay her acceptance for a year so that her kids wouldn’t have to enter daycare.

“In eight months, I turn the big 4-0,” says Stephanie. “I have made it my personal goal to improve my overall health, strength and weight.”

Stephanie says that she has struggled with her weight her entire life. “Getting this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to achieve my health and fitness goals is a literal dream come true for me,” she says. Her goals for this year include losing weight, getting off anxiety medication, being a role model for her family, and returning to nursing school as a healthier and stronger person.

“I am beyond excited to be chosen as one of this year’s recipients,” says Stephanie, “and I cannot wait to see where this Yoga journey will take me. I look forward to giving my all this year and making an impact on my health and vitality.”
